What is it?
This is the most accessible tour we offer, suitable for families, solo travelers and holidaymakers who fancy a truly unique experience. Join us in exploring the dry lowlands and forested hills of northern peninsula Thailand, from hiking beautiful jungle waterfalls to joining exciting snake rescues. This is a highly productive area for herping, with both the western hills and tropical savanna habitat around Hua Hin town boasting remarkably contrasting diversities of species. 2-3 days is perfect to experience everything Hua Hin has to offer and create priceless memories.

Where is it?
This tour is based out of Hua Hin town, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, but features outings to Phetchaburi province.

What can we find?
Siamese spitting cobras (Naja siamensis), Malayan pit-vipers (Calloselasma rhodostoma) and Malayan kraits (Bungarus candidus) are just a select few venomous species which are encountered in the Hua Hin area. Moreover, multi-day tours offer a notable opportunity to search for the elusive King Cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) at the peak of its activity during the annual breeding season. All three of Thailand’s Pythons occur around Hua Hin, as well as many interesting Colubrids. Additionally, we can take a trip to find the beautiful endemic Kui Buri pit-viper (Trimeresurus kuiburi). During periods of heavy rain, one can find several weird and wonderful amphibians, including Koh Tao cecaelians (Ichthyophis kohtaoensis), warty frilled frog (Kurixalus verrucosus) and the legendary blunt-snouted burrowing frog (Glyphoglossus molossus). With high chances of observing elephants, slow loris, leopard cats and a myriad of exotic birds, even those with interests in warm-blooded creatures will depart this tour with memorable experiences.

How does it work?
Our guides will pick you up from your accommodation at a set time in the afternoon and spend the remaining daylight looking for diurnal snakes, with the option to join on snake rescues if any calls come through. Come sunset, we will eat dinner together at one of our favorite local restaurants. After food, we will venture into the forest at night and search for several hours. We will drop you off at your hotel at the end of the night. We aim to end by 01:00 AM, but can finish earlier at your request.

The experiences available on this tour include:
- A night hike to an enchanting waterfall in the western hills
- An afternoon and evening searching for snakes around Hua Hin
- Night exploration at coastal mangrove forest
- Visiting caves to look for snakes and geckos
- Join the team on snake rescue calls

How to get here and where to stay?
Hua Hin is only a short ~3-hour car or bus journey from Bangkok. Coaches run directly from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Hua Hin for around ฿300 Thai Baht per person. Minivans run hourly from Bangkok’s Eastern bus terminal (Ekamai), for around ฿200 per person. A private car or taxi will cost about ฿2000 from Bangkok. Hua Hin is a lively town with a large variety of food and accommodation options, ranging from budget hotels to 5-star resorts. We strongly recommend staying within 3 kilometers of Bluport Shopping Mall, in the southern part of town.
